For $10, players get access to a huge cache of premium skins and other cosmetics with the caveat that they need to play and complete challenges in order to level the thing up. The battle pass has been at the center of Fortnite: Battle Royale's monetization strategy essentially since launch. On the outside, it seems like a pretty ridiculous proposition.
